About Us

Created out of a deep love for a the magic of honeybees and a passion for the healing products that they create, Beewell Apiary is a heartfelt collaboration between husband and wife duo Julian Shavers, a passionate beekeeper, and Mireille Désilets, a holistic nutritionist and herbalist. Striving to remain ____ to both the bees that we care for and the customers that we serve, our mission is to produce honey in a way that is health-promoting in as many ways as possible. This is why we keep our bees in an area that is free from pesticides and commercial crops, and instead situate them amongst field of natural wild flowers where their food source is as pure and natural as it gets. It is also why we keep our honey raw and unheated, to preserve all of the health benefits that honey naturally contains. (You can read more about that in this blog post.) We strive to keep our business as sustainable as possible, from the beekeeping practices that we employ to the packaging that we use, to ensure that our honey has not only a positive impact on our customers' health, but also on that of the bees and the environment that sustains us all. 

Nestled at the edge of Riding Mountain National Park, Manitoba, the 20 beehives from which our honey flows are managed holistically, with utmost care.
